Businesswoman joins NWDA

Vanda Murray, UK managing director and group marketing director for conservatory business Ultraframe, has joined the board of the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA).

Ms Murray will join the board from on April 1st 2006. Her appointment will run until December 2008.

It was also announced that Councillor Marie Rimmer, leader of St Helens Council, and Professor Maureen Williams, founder and chief executive of Merseyside Development Foundation, would remain on the board.

Alun Michael, minister of state for industry and the regions, commented: "These talented people have a wealth of experience in delivering success, and will help the RDA continue to make a real difference to economic development in the region."

The NWDA provides programmes, strategy and finance to SMEs in the north-west. It works with a range of enterprise from the public, private and voluntary sector.

Over the next three years, the NWDA has a budget of £1.5 billion to work with.
