Small businesses in Scotland are being urged to understand their responsibility to disabled consumers. Launching the campaign in Scotland last week, Anne McGuire, minister for disabled people, visited a local florist in Bridge of Allan.
Owner Hania Foote showed how she had made adjustments to her premises to increase accessibility for disabled customers.
Ms McGuire said: "Many businesses in Scotland have already woken up to the economic and ethical arguments in making them accessible to disabled staff, customers, their families and friends. Businesses need to wise up to this."
This comes as part of a wider campaign to help businesses across Scotland understand their responsibilities under the Disability Discrimination Act.
Copies of the pack which support the scheme, Adjusting Better for Business, backed by trade bodies and local businesses, are available online from the Department for Work and Pensions website.
